A 14 Day Certificate of Basic Competence
in Ericksonian Hypnosis

For over 30 years, Dr. Stephen Gilligan has been one of the main teachers of Ericksonian hypnosis and therapy. We are delighted to have him come to Japan to present the most popular of his trainings, the 14-day certification course in “Generative Trance work. The course will be an intensively experiential workshop for those interested in learning how to use trance work for creativity and change, in themselves and others. In the Ericksonian view trance is seen primarily as a naturalistic learning state that occurs from within, not an artificial state created or controlled by an outside “hypnosis”.
The training teaches how to develop and utilize these states for purposes of improved health, happiness, healing, and helpfulness to others The training consists of two 6-day segments led by Dr. Gilligan, with two day-long practice sessions being held on November 1st and 2nd by Alastair Prentice to deepen understanding and skills between the segments.

Week 1 will primarily focus on the many ways to develop and utilize trance to connect with the creative and healing potentials of the Self. You will learn how to help others to develop deep trance for lasting changes. You will learn techniques for self-hypnosis; establishing a connection with the inner self; identifying and transforming blocks and resistance; deepening trance; working with symptoms as trance states; transforming negative trance states into positive ones; mutual hypnosis; generative trance; and specific applications of trance.

Major topics include: Identity, trance, and hypnosis /Hypnotic processes for connecting with a Deep Self/Problems as negative trances, solutions as positive trances: How to get from one to the other/Differences between generative trance and problem trances/How, when, and why to develop trance/ When not to use trance/Creating self-hypnotic and other special mindbody learning states for problem solving and creative living/working within deep trance states/Creative conversations with the Unconscious Mind,

Week 2 will emphasize how to utilize generative trance for transforming identity, healing, and major creativity and problem-solving. A major theme is how trance phenomena model the basic dimensions of psychological reality—e.g. time, space, body identity, memory, the future, and perception—and how you can develop these trance phenomena in creative ways for major changes. Skills development include age regression and age progression; time distortion; dissociation; hypnotic dreams; trauma resolution; goal achievement; and communication with the unconscious. These skills and practices will allow a person to realize mastery of their own psychological realities, so that he or she can live the best life possible.

Major topics include: Using trance phenomena to create a Generative Self/Trance for health, happiness, helpfulness, and healing/How identity is created, maintained, and transformed via trance phenomena/Utilizing this awareness to create higher consciousness/Changing negative habits/Replacing negative thinking with generative thinking/ How to accept and utilize resistances, doubts, and blocks as part of generative development/Integrating the conscious and unconscious minds into a Generative Self/ How to use generative trance to heal wounds, improve competencies, develop deep intimacies, and generate transpersonal experiences.

These courses are for therapists, coaches, and individuals sincerely interested in exploring hypnotic trance for generative change. They are deep explorations of how reality is created via various hypnotic processes, and how such realities may be transformed and improved. The main emphasis is on how to respectfully tap into the amazing creativity that is within each of us, and utilize this creativity in positive ways. You will find this training relaxing, invigoration, transforming, and integrative.Dr.Gilligan has been teaching this work for over 30years and is one of the most informed and experienced Ericksonian teachers in the world. Come and learn from one of the masters.
You will receive a certificate indicating completion of 14 Days of theory and practice in Ericksonian Hypnosis and Generative Trance.
